Smashing Pumpkins Plan New Album

Smashing Pumpkins

Billy Corgan recently took to his Twitter(@Billy) to announce that The Smashing Pumpkins were indeed working on their 10th studio album and follow up to 2010's "Oceania". "Excited to announce today's our 1st official day of writing for new SP album. Wish us luck!"

Corgan said the new material would be described as "cruel" when he spoke to MTV Hive last year, and how the writing process has been going so far. "I'm starting to write new songs for the next Pumpkins album. I got a lot going on. I have a title for the next album but I won't tell. It's going to be a cruel record. Vengeance is mine."

Want even more Pumpkin action? Their classic album "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness" was re-released last December with a special deluxe version, and plans to re-release the band's whole back catalogue are also in the works!

The band have confirmed three summer shows for their return to the UK this July.
